Roy and Frances Madsen met at a Shaklee gathering. Each already had their own business in Shaklee, and each had their own family to blend together as well. When these two enterprising spirits joined forces, marrying in 1960, they created an amazing legacy that includes on of the most incredible businesses in Shaklee history, which today generates over 7 million OV each and every month.
In addition to being one of our Shaklee legends, Roy was also a decorated veteran. Roy served as a tail gunner in the Air Force during WWII. After being shot down for the second time, he credits his life being saved by the Czechoslovakian partisans who helped him flee from the pursuing German army. After his discharge, he was called back to Czechoslovakia to serve a mission for the LDS Church.
Roy and Frances' Shaklee business allowed them the opportunity to enjoy traveling all around the world. After the fall of the Iron Curtain, Roy was able to travel back to his beloved Czechoslovakia several times where he was instrumental in honoring the American servicemen and women who had lost their lives during WWII. Many of Roy's personal effects from the Air Force are currently on display in the museum honoring the Slovak National Uprising in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. We are proud to have known Roy, and proud to honor him and Frances as two of our foundational leaders and earliest Master Coordinators in Shaklee.
